This fragrance holds its own against the original. I like the profile but it does not last long. I sprayed on my skin directly, allowed it air out and it lasts about 30 minutes on my skin fresh from the shower, and after 3 more sprays in between layering creams and oils. On clothes, it's a different story. I sprayed the inside of my clothes and my house gown after getting out of the shower. The clothes sat an hour or so before I put them on and I re-sprayed 3 more times. On clothes it last about 4 hours total in full bloom and mellows out to a very pretty powdery scent that holds the base notes lightly. As I type this, I'm smelling my house gown and it's the next day, about 15 hours after the last spraying. Given the original is not in production, this is a fine substitute and I would recommend it, even if it's just to have the 1st whiff of the spray to rekindle your OG memory. This does that and I'm glad I purchased. Other fragrances are in my cart and I will try them all.
