The Perfect Pack for the Mobile Hunter
I’ve gone through a lot of hunting packs over the years, and the Latitude Ranger 22 is hands down the best pack I’ve ever owned. From the moment I took it out of the box, I could tell it was designed by people who actually spend time in the woods. Every pocket, strap, and feature has a purpose, and nothing feels like an afterthought.
The Ranger 22 is the perfect size for the way I hunt. It carries everything I need for a full day in the woods without feeling oversized or bulky. Whether I’m packing extra layers for late season, carrying gear for an all-day sit, or heading out to scout in the spring, it has more than enough room while staying compact and comfortable. The compression panel is one of my favorite features because it securely holds my climbing sticks and platform, keeping everything tight to my back and making long walks much easier. Comfort is another area where this pack shines. Even when fully loaded, the shoulder straps and waist belt distribute the weight incredibly well, and the pack rides close to my back without shifting around. After miles of walking, it still feels comfortable, which is something I can’t say about most hunting packs I’ve used.
The quality is outstanding. The materials are tough, the zippers are smooth and quiet, and everything feels built to last for years of hard use. I also appreciate how organized the pack is. Every piece of gear has its place, so I’m not digging around trying to find my headlamp, rangefinder, gloves, or release when it matters most.
What really sold me was how well it integrates with the rest of my Latitude setup. My Carbon SS climbing sticks fit perfectly, and the entire system feels like it was designed to work together. Once everything is packed, it carries quietly and efficiently, which is exactly what I want when I’m slipping into a spot before daylight.
The Ranger 22 isn’t the cheapest hunting backpack on the market, but after using it, I honestly believe it’s worth every penny. It’s one of those purchases where you immediately realize why it costs more. The comfort, organization, durability, and overall design are second to none.
