But you didn't stop there: you added plenty of thoughtful extras AND a lovely slipcover as well. So if you like strange, dreamlike, and RARE horror films, buy with confidence. You cannot go wrong with Vinegar Syndrome's new special edition Blu-ray of THE HAND OF NIGHT!

A rarity for fans of classic British horror movies

I had a bootleg of a 4:3 print and this immaculate VS restoration is night & day (no pun intended) compared to that -- like seeing it for the first time. As for the movie itself, if you're in the least bit a fan of '60s British horror movies and weren't already familiar with this one, it's a no-brainer. I'm really pleased with VS's recent efforts to seek out and restore rare pre-1980s horror & sci-fi titles. Reviver 2 was an exceedingly pleasant surprise -- I can't wait for VS to unearth more such rarities, whether from the Philippines or elsewhere.

Bring on the British Monsters!

Rather obscure British horror film from 1966, THE HAND OF NIGHT is technically only the second (after DEVILS OF DARKNESS) UK vampire film set in modern times. Moody, dreamlike, atmospheric and kind of a slow burn, it's unusually written and unlike much of Hammer's and Amicus' 1960s output. I think this belongs on every classic horror collector's movie shelf -- this is the kind of VS release I personally find so welcomed. Great transfer and extras. I do hope that a release of DISCIPLE OF DEATH is right around the corner.
