Essence Series Casting Rod

Really disappointed

Placed my order for 2 Essence rods on 5/4 and rcvd them on 5/7, was very pleased with the fast delivery as I had ordered them with a tournament on 5/23 in mind. Got them out of the water on 5/8. First bite with the 7’6 MH it exploded into 3 pieces. 3/8 oz Texas rig on a long cast, 17 lb flouro. Rod explodes, line didn’t break and I reeled the fish in, just over 2 lbs. put the broken rod in the box extremely disappointed. The 7’4 MH composite has held up for a few fish now, but has a weird “creak” when it loads up to cast. Almost like there’s some broken epoxy somewhere on the rod. It’s loud enough I thought it broke when I made the first cast with it. I’m afraid it’ll end the same way soon. The sensitivity isn’t what I expected either, I have a few Tharp rods that I much prefer for a cheaper price, but I’ll admit the action on the 7’4 is perfect for a chatterbait. Really like How it loads up, despite the odd sound. MOST disappointing part of this transaction is I completed a warranty submission first thing the next Monday after the rod broke, 5/11. No response all week, I followed up with an email on 5/18, and also attempted to call and did not get an answer. They did respond to my warranty submission the afternoon of 5/18, but advised I need to cut the rod down, ship it back, and they’ll ship my replacement. Allow 10-14 days for replacement. So I won’t have a rod this weekend that I ordered almost 3 weeks in advance for this tournament.

Nice rods

Got both composite rods. The 7’4” has a hair softer action than its invoker tours identical rod. The 7’ is a great spinnerbait rod. Which is what i wanted. Good rods.

Pleasantly surprised the rods are built well passed the on the water test now durability is to be seen.
