My boy was happy enough in his current bit but every now and then was offended easily in the mouth when he become a little tense. Which meant, I’d loose contact thus feeling I’d lost connection, thus control. Not a nice feeling. I was recommended to try a fixed bit rather than with the break in the middle - he now accepts the contact so much more consistently and when he gets a little tense, I can yield with the leg and rein and he listens and stays connected instead of grabbing it and fighting like he did the other bit. Both were gentle bits but this bomber ported barrel gives me the connection when I need it most - under pressure so I feel safe and my boy feels supported.
