A GAN16 Solver's Perspective

Credentials: 9.3s single, 11.8s Ao5 First, some context: My very first speedcube was the Ferrocore v1, and I LOVE (still do) that cube. Eventually I switched to my current main, the GAN16, a very light, very fast cube. Review: Let me first preface by saying I PRed my Ao5 on this cube. This is an exceptional product, but not perfect. Out of the box my cube is set to 1 tension and 1 elasticity, and I cannot comprehend increasing any of these settings to anything higher at risk of the cube feeling extremely blocky and rigid. Part of that is due to the magnet strength... magnets in this thing are unbelievably strong. For cubers that are used to light, airy, "fast turning" (relative, I know) cubes, this one will take some getting used to... it's a "feel" thing, and my enjoyment has improved as I've gotten used to it over 1000 solves or so. The other minor thing, and we're splitting hairs here, the coloring is a bit dark for me. If I hold the GAN16 and the Ferrocore v2 side by side, the GAN16 simply has brighter, more vibrant colors. I prefer the vibrancy of the GAN16, but I was able to adapt very quickly to the Ferrocore v2. All in all, this purchase was well worth it in the FUN I've had using this cube, and it's a gorgeous, unique puzzle to have in the rotation, or at the very least in the collection. I have to give it 4 stars, but I recommend a purchase.

overrated. Not great.

Truly nothing particularly special about this cube. VERY locky on Tight AND Loose settings turns strange with the magnets and ball core hard to control. Color shades make it difficult to track well in certain lighting. My solves have gotten worse since started solving out of the box and after I set this up nothing changed much. I love loose and clicky cubes like the previous Weilongs and some gan cubes but this is too much. Dissapointing purchase.

I love it so much!! Took almost 3weeks to arrive here in the Philippines and paid additional fees for import, other than that everything went smoothly. The cube on the other hand is the best cube i have ever played, warning though it has some STRONG magnets, so if you're not into that feel you might want to think twice. Anyway that would be my review, i love the cube its worth it. (The shipping fee is much expensive than the cube though, T_T)
