I’ve tried rya for 2 weeks now and here are my full thoughts:
Color/texture: very fine powder when compared to other matchas of the same price point. The color is more on the yellow side but when made into a latte turns a vibrant green
Koicha: not my favorite preparation as it was too astringent for me
Usucha: my favorite way to drink rya. Because I didn’t like it Koicha style I didn’t really have high expectations. But I enjoyed it so much as usucha. The astringency became much more enjoyable. It was slightly sweet, creamy, grassy, and left a pleasant lingering taste on the tongue.
Latte: I tried it with oat milk and with whole milk and prefer it more with oat milk as it complements the notes more in my opinion
Baking: I’ve made brownies and cookies with rya and amazing in those pastries. My coworkers loved them and can’t wait for my next batch
Overall I really loved rya and think it’s a very approachable and well balanced matcha to beginners and seasoned matcha drinkers

I definitely recommend Rya matcha! First off, the tin is one of my favorites since you don’t waste any matcha having to mess with transferring matcha from a bag to a tin. Secondly, the smell when you first open is heavenly! It smells sweet and slightly vegetal. Now for the taste, it has no bitterness and no astringency. It tastes vegetal and balanced. Definitely great for beginners and great for those who love to drink matcha daily.

High quality affordable matcha with a smooth, creamy finish. Well balanced, not bitter or astringent. Overall a great matcha. A really good every day matcha. Definitely a must try matcha.
