Overall, we like the design of the Dannico bookshelf. It holds a lot of books, and the lower rear storage area adds weight to the base, helping improve stability. A few areas could be improved: 1. Soft-close hinge: The soft-close feature only engages during the last inch of travel. While it prevents slamming, we’d prefer it to engage earlier for better finger safety. 2. Surface finish: The drawer bottom feels rougher than the rest of the bookshelf. More consistent finishing throughout would be appreciated. 3. Packaging: The heavy use of Styrofoam feels inconsistent with a sustainability-focused brand. 4. Assembly: Assembly was more difficult than expected. Some panels required significant force and hammering to fit properly. Overall, we like the product, but improvements in safety, finish quality, packaging, and assembly would better align with the company’s philosophy on safety and sustainability.

Super functional bookcase! Well made materials, great customer service, and easy to put together. We love how there isn’t any hardware exposures from the sides which really elevates the piece. It’s such a good feeling to buy an American made product as well.

We love this bookshelf we bought two - one for our baby’s room and one for our family room. It is the perfect size, not too big or too small, and holds so many books. We use the side door and the top to store soft toys like puppets. It’s easy for a toddler to reach whether on the ground or standing. Our baby loves it, and we are so pleased with the quality of the piece!!! You are not going to find anything this beautifully finished, with no visible holes or screws (that could be harmful to you child) on Amazon. This is the real deal, thoughtfully designed, aesthetically pleasing, useful, easy to assemble (videos online made the process easy!) and MADE IN THE US. Worth every penny for this heirloom bookshelf each of our kids will get to play with!
