Solid material. Easy to open. I have a hard time finding clips that stay in place and this is a solid grip. If you have relly thick hair, get a bigger size clip. My have is medium thickness but long so I cant put all of it up. But i also just wanted todo a half up so this worked perfectly. It also arived 2 days early.
