Love affair.
I am a committed beginner, 178cm (5'10" ) and 88kg (195#), in size 11 boots. I am hesitant to write a review, simply because I am so new to this, but I feel that maybe someone might benefit from a "non influencer/non social media" noob perspective.
I've been renting, trying things out to this point, different boards, sizes, shapes, stances... and as I got a feel for "how I like to ride", the Lynx started appearing on my radar. I bought a 159, based on Cardiff's advice.
First day I rode it on reference (a bit wide for me), at +18/+3. On my first run, the width was noticeable, and I worried that I made a mistake, and should have gone smaller. Second run, I started leaning into it, using my weight a bit more. Third run, it all clicked. I made no mistake, the board just needed me to figure out how to ride it, at speed this thing is an effortless, confidence-inspiring, stable, absolutely grin-inducing rip. I've since narrowed my stance a bit (down to 21.75), and changed to +21/+6, and things are just getting better.
All my research and reading and watching was 100% worth it. This board is stable at speed, practically turns itself, and is just pure pleasure to ride. My riding has advanced so quickly since getting on this thing; my only regret is that the season is coming to a close shortly.
Thank you, Cardiff. I will be back. I am in love.
