We’ve used the black pine tar on our raw pine shiplap siding for much of our cottage. As per recommendations we used a 50/50 mixture of raw linseed oil with the black pine tar, heated to 140 degrees.
The results have been great both aesthetically as well as from a protection point of view.
After 3 years there is no evidence of any wear or degradation in the pine tar coating!
