Sandal is too loose

I used to get a version of these sandals every year and live in them all summer. Starting last summer (2025), I noticed that the fabric covering my foot was looser than it used to be. The shoes used to start out very snug and get looser over time, which was perfect because once they got too worn out, I'd get a new pair (every year or two, which was totally reasonable given that I wore them every day). But starting last summer, the fabric was already loose when they arrived and the more I wore them, the worse it got. Within a week or so, wearing these shoes made my feet hurt because they were just too big. I bought another pair this summer (2026) hoping it was just a fluke, but unfortunately this pair was too loose as well. I ended up returning them. The other pair of Italian Shoemakers I decided to keep suffered from the same issue although it's slightly better. Sadly, I'm not going to be buying from Italian Shoemakers again (after decades!) because of this issue.
