Just a question for Darn Tough

This is not the pair I want to tell you about. I haven't tried the ones pictured, or the two others. The one I'm wearing is: Women's Hiker Boot Midweight Hiking Socks - Cushion / Plum Heather / S I bought a pair of lightweight Darn Toughs when in VT. Perfect for my 6. 5 feet. So I felt comfortable loading up ahead of a trip to the Rockies. My feet however are swimming in these. Golfing in the cold last night, I had material tucking itself between my toes and sole. Why such a difference? And will they all turn out so big?
