The Shasta 23L Cooler

I like the look and feel on the inside. I have not tested the cooler with cold items.

Monti is our new favorite travel companion. We frequently fly out of our little town to somewhere, rent a car and hit the road. Usually we do this with a soft cooler that becomes one of our carryons for the flight. For a recent trip to Hawaii, we bought Monti. He traveled there in a suitcase and was deployed the next day to hold our grocery purchases on the way to our timeshare. I thought that would be his only task - moving our perishables from one timeshare to another. But what really happened is Monti went with us every day - with cold drinks as we left and often with grocery or farmers market purchases on our way back. Our checklist out the door usually included the question "You've got Monti right?" Although we ended up buying him a couple of reusable ice packs, we packed him with a bag of ice each time we changed condos so we'd have drink ice ready for cocktails once we checked into the new place. He never leaked. When it was time to come home, I packed Monti around a couple bottles of sake (in their own bottle wraps) for added padding before putting them in a suitcase. Monti is the best and is now part of our future trips!
