Big Mutt: Custom Dog Pedal

I recently picked up the Double Pom Drive (which I customized as the "Dorothy Drive" with artwork of my dog), and it completely blew me away. It is a dual overdrive with an LS circuit on one side and a TS circuit on the other. The LS side goes toe-to-toe with my Greer Lightspeed, delivering that perfect, transparent "more" to clean and edge-of-breakup tones. The TS side is a unique, mid-high forward take on the classic Tube Screamer that cuts beautifully through a mix, featuring a clever tone control that adds gain as it pushes the mids. The build quality and sound are so exceptional that this pedal immediately replaced a boutique dual drive on my gig board. Excellent communication, incredible value, and top-tier performance. I highly recommend No Kill Pedal Company and will absolutely be buying from them again.

Awesome pedal. Unlike most overdrive pedals, this one is leaning into subtlety. The LS acts almost like a tube amp (think Top Boost on an AC30 or a Bassman cranked) giving you a slight saturation lift in the lower and upper mids. You can crank the gain on it and it sounds great, but it's most effective when you use it to add a bit of sparkle. And do you really need more gain when you have a Tube Screamer next? This thing sings but is not an overblown drive pedal. Being sounding great, the build-quality is superb. Solid casing, thoughtful knob structure and placement, and a beautiful screenprint of the best dog in the universe. 5/5. Truly great stuff. I'm excited to get the next pedal from NoKill!
