Garage door remotes

Unfortunately I now have to buy a new garage door at a cost of $2000 so I’ve wasted the money on my remotes as I can’t use them ☹️

Compatible but instructions and range could have been better

I bought two of these to replace my ancient big garage remotes. The instructions failed to mention that in addition to mirroring the configuration of the manual switches inside the device with the existing remotes, you must also reprogram the transmitter code. I did this by holding down the code set button on the garage door opener motor, while pressing a button on the new remote for 2 seconds then letting it go for two seconds and then pressing again for two seconds. Once I did this the new remote worked. Unless you do this step, then the remote only displays a light and doesn't actually open the door. I have also found the range is not great if I am outside and trying to open the garage door. Overall though this product is reasonably priced and the size is great compared to the old remotes.
