I found the map of minimal help because it lacked detail. There are no roads or details of key cities. 'Planning map' means a very generic overview that would be easily gleaned from an image on the internet. I was disappointed and regretted my purchase.

Some improvement needed

The map was sufficiently detailed for planning but it had had two problems. First the material is not really that durable for a lot of use. It needs to feel like I could open and close it 10x a day for two months of ground level travel and still be usable. Second it had no blow ups of the major towns so was useless once I was in country. I know I can use apps and my phone etc. but then I wouldn’t need a map. And when I didn’t have coverage the map didn’t help.
