Warm Hands, Smart Design for Winter Photography

I’ve been using the Skadi LRS Zipper Mitt during winter wildlife photography, and they’ve quickly become one of my favorite pieces of gear for cold days in the field. Spending hours waiting for birds in freezing temperatures can be tough on your hands, but these mitts keep them surprisingly warm while still allowing quick access to my camera controls. The zipper design is really practical — I can easily free my fingers when I need precise control over the camera, and close them back up again to warm up. The build quality feels solid and well thought out, especially for photographers who spend long periods outdoors. For anyone doing photography in cold climates, these mitts make a big difference in comfort and usability. They’ve definitely helped me stay out longer in winter conditions.

Good quality

I've tested them on very cold days and they really do the job. I have to highlight how well they protect your hands and fingers from the cold. Being able to remove the finger mitten is very useful for adjusting camera and touchscreen settings. Good quality, I've recommended them to my photographer colleagues who work in extreme cold.

Skadi LRS Zipper Mitt

Dear Vallerret team, my weakpoint during winter times while photographing wildlife is cold hands. This is my 3rd pair of gloves from Vallerret in order to find a solution. I start with the Markhofs, will keep me warm with temp around 10C. I have the Tinden. In general i like them as they allow good grip and flexibility however the “overlaps” on the index finger dont have enough overlap and big source of cold coming in. Additionally the Velco at the wrist does’t hold anymore. With the Skadi Im diapponted as the zipper opening is too small for proper finger manipulation. The Touch screen liner is definately too thin and i bought some innerliners from the heatcompany that are doing the job. Regards Wim Wuyts
