Very good upgrade for hobbyists and semi‐pro users

I’d rate the Orbiter Smart Filament Sensor as a very good upgrade for hobbyists and semi‐pro users, especially those using the Orbiter extruder or similar. If I assign a rough scale: Performance: 8.5/10 Ease of integration: 7.5/10 (assuming you are comfortable with some wiring/firmware setup) Value for reliability: 8/10 Limitations: 6.5/10 (due to extra cost, some sensitivity quirks, requirement of compatible extruder)

Works great and fits perfectly on the Orbiter. Prewritten macros are convenient and generally everything works very well. The jam sensing is a little lacking - would prefer an encoder wheel vs the tension style setup this has to be able to detect filament problems with loose extruder gears or a nozzle too close to the plate. This one will only register excess pulling on the filament. Still happy I upgraded from my previous one.
