I was very excited to get these mirror “locks” installed and I had high expectations out of them due to the quality of CMM’s mirrors. They are also very expensive, as are the mirrors that they are supposed to protect. First off, the machine work is top notch and I could not be happier there. But the main function is to prevent theft of the mirrors they are supposed to protect. The supplied socket does a good job fitting tightly on the “locks” and it is a good thought to make the socket fit the factory Jeep ratchet provided with the Jeep. The problem and reason for my less than desirable review score is that they will not tighten enough to secure the mirrors. I tightened them until the threads fully bottomed out against the mirror mounts on the A pillar. I was still able to remove the “locks”easier than expected with my bare hands only. For this reason, I cannot recommend them to anyone thinking that these will keep your mirrors safe. They are too pricey not to work. I’m highly disappointed after having such high hopes.
