Works like a champ

Was looking for an affordability priced solution to view my DVR (located in an equipment rack in the basement) on the living room TV when needed. Since it’s not overly critical that I have the highest resolution for playback and review, I just repurposed an existing unused CAT5e by cutting and reterminating the end to the DVR. Works great! Even with CAT5e. However, I’m only running about 50’. if you need to pull longer cable runs I would still recommend at least CAT6 or 6a with shield.
