Push Your Creativity: Reimagining fairy tales through illustration

When a book gathers so much material to help you grow as an artist, you cannot give less than perfect grade. I love everything about this book: the fact that many artists tackle the same tale, the fact the almost every genre / style is covered, the fact that there's in depth analysis on how to think a picture, gather reference, use reference, and finally shows the way to take your illustration to a brilliant finish. A must have companion for every illustrator, or aspiring ones. As a side note I also appreciated that the final illustrations are displayed on one page only (yes on two pages it's bigger, but the bridge between two pages ruins quite the effect...)

What stands out most is the sheer visual delight: each reimagining features lovingly crafted scenes bursting with rich color, intricate detail, and imaginative nuance. The artists masterfully twist familiar stories in unexpected, intriguing ways—adding depth, emotion, and modern sensibility while staying true to the essence of the originals. Preliminary studies and process breakdowns add valuable insight into the creative decision-making process.
