I have a Ford Maverick and needed a cheaper option for a topper, one that didn't cost almost $5K, as the fiberglass ones do. First the good. It seems very well made, and durable, and in general I was surprised with the fit. It's affordable and much sturdier than I expected. I really like all the tie down D rings on the roof, although I have only used the two back ones to tie up the rear flap/window. Now the less stellar things, which may be because I have a Maverick, and it is unibody, not conventional body on frame, where can and bed are separate units. There's a rain skirt that runs along the bottom of the topper, and it may work great for a regular truck, because you could in theory tuck the flap down between the cab and the bed. This doesn't work on a Maverick. First I did what the instructions said to do, from inside the topper, push the skirt under the bottom, towards the cab, with something blunt like a paint stirring stick. This works well enough in the middle, but towards the corners it can't be done, for the reason outlined above. So the center part is tucked under, but the corner parts are folded over themselves and creating a bulge in the corners. This causes the topper to not being pushed all the way against the plastic trim on the cab. Add to this the fact, that the edge of the bed rail angles slightly upward the last two inches and the plastic trim around the can edge also angles out from the top to the bottom. The final result was, that the top edge of the topper is slightly above the cab, and the curled up corner of the rain skirt keeps the topper from making contact with the cab, and the gab increases the further up you look. I tried to solve this by folding the skirt under the topper edge, but towards the bed. Yes, it makes a weird 45° fold on the front side, but it seems to fit better. The topper slid closer to the cab by about an inch, but now it is far from water tight. I tried to address this with some rubber pipe insulation, but they come in 6' increments, and that is slightly less than what is needed. Because the gap is bigger at top than at the bottom, I have to trim it from where it goes down vertically in order to make it fit perfectly. If I can make it work perfectly, I'll update with photos. The much hated tailgate strap with the Velcro on is completely useless on a Maverick. It is supposed to be located in the exact spot, what the thickness of the tailgate narrows, so it simply slides up and above the edge, doing absolutely nothing to hold the window flap down. I solved this rather easily with a magnet strip with adhesive and a Velcro strip, also with adhesive. Married the two adhesive sides together, and stuck it on the Velcro on the flap. This flap is going nowhere. Besides these two issues, I do think this is a great product, and I can highly recommend it!

This thing is amazing! It inflates very quickly, is super light, sits very securely on the rim of the pickup bed, and can be put on, or taken off in just minutes. It's more affordable than a hard top shell, but seems just as sturdy--if not more so. What a great product!

Ever since I had heard of these bed toppers it has taken me a year and a half to finally nab one and plop it on the back of my little pickup. Honestly I was little bit of a sceptic. I had finally seen enough ads and read enough reviews that I finally bit the bullet. I’ve had it for just over a week now and I gotta say…. I love the thing! It’s a simple setup, it’s light weight, and it just….works. It’s perfect for my business to keep things dry on rainy days. I drive in the interstate quite a bit and yes, it makes absolutely no sound. This is a great product and I highly recommend it. Great job on these bed toppers Flated! This one is out of the park at centerfield!!!
