Octopus pattern

This pattern and others that I have purchased are designed to be simple. Few pieces but enough to make the image interesting and appealing and identifiable.

Such an easy block to sew; limited only by the colours one chooses. I always satin stitch my appliqué and I originally thought I would make a “pig’s mess” of the twists and turns. Not so, just slow down and you too will be happy with the result. This block was one in a play mat I made for a baby. According to her mum, the octopus is her favourite - no further recommendation is needed. 😊

Relatively easy to sew. Need to take time with the curves. Looks lovely in the quilt.
