It pains me to write this, but this review is a comparison to the version 1 McQuade jean which set the standard. Unfortunately the version 2 is a downgrade compared to the version 1. For reference I own 5 pairs of the version 1 McQuade jeans, 2 pairs of the Marlboro Wash, 2 pairs of the Vintage Wash, and 1 pair of the Grease Monkey Wash. I wear the version 1 jeans almost every single day of the year to include for work. I have owned the two Marlboro Wash version 1 since 2017/2018 I believe, it has been so long I can’t remember. As soon as the version 2 came out, I ordered two pairs of the Marlboro Wash as those were my favorite version 1 in my normal size 30x32 regular fit. As soon as I put them on they were noticeably tighter everywhere and there was very little stretch compared to the version 1. I loaded up my pockets with my normal stuff and items did not fit like they usually did and the jeans felt even tighter than before. I measured the pockets on both pairs of version 2 and found the front pockets were approximately 1.5 inches shorter and the yoke pocket .5 inches shorter than the version 1. I emailed TD and they confirmed the shorter pockets were by design. The smaller front pockets and lack of stretch make it very difficult to get a phone out of the pockets when sitting inside a vehicle now, don’t even bother if you have gear on. When I walk the top of my cellphone in the front pocket hits the bottom of my AIWB holster with every step and I don’t even have a large cellphone. If I had to run and jump over objects, the tightness of the version 2 jeans would make it very difficult and uncomfortable when the pockets were loaded with items. Whenever I wear my version 2 jeans I can’t wait to put my version 1 jeans back on, the comfort level between the two are night and day. I ordered the version 2 Midnight Wash also since the website said they were the same fabric (98% cotton/2% spandex) as the Marlboro Wash version 1. The Midnight Wash felt like the old version 1 fabric and had noticeable stretch, very similar to the version 1 jeans. The pockets were still 1.5 inches shorter than the version 1. I ended up not liking the color so I returned them. To me the version 2 jean is a step back and for the first time in a long time it has me looking at other companies to replace my version 1 jeans that are wearing out. It’s clear to me that the change from 2% spandex in version 1 to 1% spandex in version 2 and the shortening of the front pockets by 1.5 inches are the main causes for the tighter version 2 jeans. As someone who exclusively wore McQuade jeans for the last 7+ years and recommended them to a number of individuals over that time, I am extremely disappointed in the version 2 and cannot recommend them. I hope TD makes the necessary changes to bring these jeans back to the standard they set with the version 1. Pictures show the comparison between the pockets of the Marlboro Wash Version 1 and 2.

I have been search for the best jeans for while now, looking for maximum comfort with the added pockets. I have tried 5.11, DUER, Mugsy, VIKTOS, American Eagle, Levi, and numerous other brands. These jeans are the best I have tried so far. The comfort is very high, tons of stretch, no gusset but you don't need a gusset when the material is very stretchy, it makes no difference in my experience. I would say they are close to being the most comfortable jeans I have tried. Mugsy was maybe just barely more comfortable (8/10) and these are more like a 7.5/10, but Mugsy don't have the extra pockets. If your wondering what a 10/10 is, that's for pajama pants, you will never find that much comfort with denim, believe me I have tried. For my CCW these are also the most comfortable jeans I have tried with that, so it makes me more inclined to carry. The pockets are great, I heard that the V1s pockets were deeper but never tried those, these are deep enough for me though, although the front pockets could be a bit deeper. Still though, great pockets that provide lots of options. I bought the regular fit in my normal size and the fit is perfect. Not too baggy or slim. The only con is the quality. I received them with a couple loose threads, and the material is thin (which I like because that makes them more comfortable, but if I would not work a blue collar job in these jeans because I'd imagine they wear fast). Keep in mind these are only $65 which is very cheap, you will not get the same level of quality as a $120 pair, but then you could buy 2 of these for 1 of those. So even if they last half the time it's still a good value. I am interested to see how they will hold up over a year, but if they last 1 year with no holes I will be satisfied. I'd like to see an offering from TacDis for higher end jeans with reinforced pockets and stronger stitching but until that happens these are absolutly the best tactical jeans that provide the most comfort on the market in my opionion. I am being critical because I was looking for the perfect jean, there is no such thing but currently these are the closet to perfect I have found.

These are great. They do fit a little large, which just makes me feel good like I’ve lost weight. Plenty of pockets and EDC options. I love them so much I’ve bought them 3 more times and thrown out some of my formerly favorite jeans. They’re the best, hands down.
