Alocasia Cuprea 'Rare Jewel'

Beautiful plant! Roots restricted

I love the plant and hoping it bounces back soon! My Alocasia Cuprea arrived well packaged with a couple droopy leaves, as expected. I followed the advised care tips provided in an email following purchase: Carefully unpackage the plant and leave it in an undisturbed area with medium to bright indirect light, and give it some water as needed for at least a week. After about three weeks and three of the five leaves had passed, I decided it was time to transplant (repot) and cross my fingers. It was during this process that I discovered the tiny root system to be completely encapsulated in a tight mesh, completely restricting growth. I understand that this mesh may be meant to decompose over time and that this may be normal practice, but a heads up would be appreciated as this severely hinders the wellbeing of the plant
