Citizen 15L Messenger

I just bought this to replace a Chrome laptop bag that my wife bought for me 18(!) years ago. That bag started splitting over the last year or so. This is a great bag for flying with a small laptop, and it wears much more confortably than my old laptop bag. My Surface Pro 14" fits well with an extra inch or two of width available at the zipper for the padded device compartment. With the organizer added, I can keep pens, business cards, my passport, and a few charge cables sorted neatly. I also pack a battery for my devices in one of the front pockets, along with small wall charging block, folding headphones, a trackball, a small paper notebook, a laptop charger, and a water bottle in the main compartment. The front pockets only allow for thin items, maybe 0.5-0.75". I'm still getting used to the slack/tighten mechanism of the strap. I keep accidently loosening it. Hopefully, I will get that sorted soon.

Looks like this one will last a lifetime. Extremely versatile and well thought out. Im particularly impressed with the quality and comfort of carrying all my gear around. My new daily driver.

Clumsy, Uncomfortable Sling Bag

I’ve had this bag for about a week and there isn’t much I like about it besides the appearance. The material gets scuffed and oily. If you have more than 10 pounds in here, your shoulder and trapezius will start to ache after 15 minutes. Taking it off is ridiculously clumsy, either you pop the middle buckle, making a racket and awkwardly grabbing for either side of the strap as it plummets, or you unclip the smaller strap and just as oddly hoist it over your head. It would be one thing if the bag was symmetrical, but because it’s got the big flap it always just feels unbalanced when doing this. I do appreciate the laptop sleeve, it’s very plush. There is a shockingly small number of items that I can actually fit into any of the pockets, though.
