Not so perfect (unfortunately)

Excuse my English — I'm French. I waited an entire year to buy these shoes (I was holding out for Black Friday), and when I finally purchased them, they fit perfectly and they're so pretty ! Wonderful, right? Well… yes, but there’s a problem. I only wore them for one day — not even a full day. I'm a librarian. I received them at 10 a.m., started my shift at 11:30, and it's currently 5:41 p.m. Why do they already show signs of wear? I don’t walk that much at work, so they definitely shouldn’t look like this. To be honest, I’m really disappointed. They were expensive (at least for me), and they were supposed to be my Christmas gift. And yet after just one day, they already look worn. I can’t even return them because they now have visible signs of use — even though I only wore them once and for a single day ! I guess that’s unlucky for me?
