Checkers mat will get dirty easily. The playing mat feels like a floor mat that can be placed in a washer for cleaning. The playing pieces are light like poker chips. On the reverse side of the checkers mat, there is 2 tic tac toe game areas that is very small. I thought other side had a big playing mat of tic tac toe as well..
