I bought the BrownBox to have a little bit of protection/insurance for my vintage amps. I'm not sure if it's in my head, but it does sound a little bit more smooth and it feels like it reacts faster. That could be just me though, like I said I bought it to protect my amps.

A must have for vintage amps

I've tried the BrownBox with several vintage amps and discovered a sweet spot with each one that generally varies between 114 volts and 117 volts. It reduces harshness, even at low volume and produces a sweeter midrange that reveals more detail and articulation in the amp. It's healthier for the amp and allows it to sound the way the builder designed it. The voltage coming out of the wall can vary from day to day so it can sometimes be tricky to nail the sweet spot.

Brownbox is a must have!

Using the Brownbox with a pair of fender deluxe custom 57 tweed amps really adds a great smoothness to the mids. I’m running at 114Volts. Feel wise it provides an even better connection between strings and fingers.A great experience buying online with Electric Mojo Guitars. Thanks Charles!
