Perfect Valentine’s Day Dinner
Meat N Bone's Filet Mignon (Center Cut) | Wagyu BMS 6-7 - was an excellent cut- and while not my first rodeo with cast iron cooking - it was with this cut. Because it was so thick - I went 4 minutes before flipping, then cut the heat by 40% and extended that sides cook time to 3 minutes - added generous slabs of butter with handful of thyme and freshly crushed garlic cloves - basted each cut then pulled both off to rest for 5 minutes while I prepped the wild mushrooms. Plated over mashed potatoes surrounded by the 'shrooms. Paired with a 2012 Old Oak Cabernet.
