ONI Denim 622ZR-BKBK "Secret Black Denim" 20oz Relaxed Tapered Jeans

Top tier quality as usual from Oni. Black/Black secret denim is one of the nicest black denims I have laid my eyes upon, texture and feel is amazing after one week of wear. Highly recommend if you like black denim.

ONI is the best. Iron Heart, Samurai and Studio D’artisan are awesome but ONI delivers on texture levels like no other. These jeans have an amazing soft yet rugged feel, perfect for the cooler and colder months. ONI denim often stretches at the waist after wear, so keep at least an extra inch in mind when picking your size.

Man, I am so thankful that I bought these as soon as I saw they were available as they sold out almost immediately after. This is my third pair of Oni jeans, all from RedCast Heritage, and the quality never ceases to amaze me. The finishes are perfect and there’s not question that these will lay a looooong long time. I went with a different cut this time, choosing the relaxed taper over the stylish, but also sizing down one so they wouldn’t bag out too much for me (I prefer them fitted rather than too loose once they settle) and even with the change they still fit like a glove. The texture is just as pronounced as my 20th Anni Mocas, and getting to watch it develop is one of the great joys in buying nice clothes these days. I got caught in some light rain just two days in, and reveled in it rather than despairing (it IS winter in Ohio after all, and it gets COLD). After getting inside and letting my body heat do the work I was rewarded with some amazing plumping of the yarns, adding even more mountainous texture to something already very tactile… couldn’t be more pleased, and this is just the beginning. This issue isn’t as hairy as the 20ths, though I think that pair had that dialed up for the release. Not at all a complaint, just an observation. They do have a faint but not unpleasant sulfur odor, but I appreciate that as part of the experience and oddly it brings me a small measure of enjoyment, sort of like the new car smell of denim. Surprisingly, dog hair just falls right off of them (that may change as they plump?) which is good as we have a white dog and these are VERY black.
