It IS cute... but I'll never be able to wear it. The 8mm size is strictly horizontal; the vertical clearance is more like half of that, when you consider the sharp protrusions extending up from the perigee of the ring. Even just trying it on for a split second caused pain and damage to my piercing. Seriously. If 8mm usually gives you a nice close fit, go for 10mm.
