Multi-Purpose Front Cargo Basket

I really hate that these have such large gaps. I can put a bag of groceries there but in my old basket I would put my sunglasses, phone, my large water bottle, maybe a protein drink for a long ride but without something else to hold everything; these really aren’t useful. I am making it work by taking a tote but it just seems like a poor design in general.

I think the basket is nice, I just can't put it on myself!! The bike was assembled when I bought it from Costco, all the wires in the front are in the way, I have to have someone take all the wires off, just to put it on. So, I may never put it on. I returned the second basket.

We don't know how to install it,didn't have any directions, only came with 4 screws. My husband is an Engineer and couldn't figure this I out. Also paid al9t for Shipping $19 that's no good.
