I have read every book by Victoria Goddard at least twice, and I was so excited when In Lonely Lands came out. It is a great novella and Victoria’s writing is so incredible. Thank you, Victoria!

A beautiful story about restarting life after depression and as someone who has been there I really relate to it.
In true Goddard style it is also a poetic story about the magic only rarely glimpsed in our world, Yshtar in her universe.
It is also a short story, so a small slice of life, which makes me long for a bigger Victoria Goddard story, be it a novella or (eagerly awaiting) the next Greenwing & Dart adventure.

This short story downloaded on a chilly gray allegedly spring day. I devoured it, along with a pot of coffee - a morning well spent. It’s VG at her best (gorgeous language, a touch of humor, and a MC who is oh so relatable).
