I installed the overlay before, and once it got in the sun and got hot, the clear began to peel off of the backing. The overlay was not purchased from carbon add-ons. At that point, I decided to install the hard carbon fiber piece showed in the picture. I thought it was kind of expensive however, once I received it and installed it, I quickly changed my mind. I wish I had done this to begin with.
