I decided to use this stone because my Kai Shin Classic 23 cm Damascus slicing knife (VG-10) had noticeable micro-chipping along the entire edge.
The 220 grit worked very efficiently - it only took about 4/5 passes to raise a burr and bring the edge back to a proper starting condition. I did continue with T2 stones afterward, but this review is specifically about the 220.
Great stone for working with some hard steels / do recommend

I've read Ruby series degrades faster than T2 series. I sharpened 5 knives and I can't confirm this. It seems they are consumed at the same rate. Means very slow. Very fine to be a 220, but does a good edge preparation. Happy with it
