The bike arrived quickly. Was packaged as expected - but I had the shifter guide broken in the box. Everything else is great. Very impressed with the hydraulic brakes at this price point. I hope they fix the broken part issue…

Hmmm.

As a mid2000s Eastern BMX bike owner, was interested to try the 29inch Alpaka based on being in the “Taiwan Build-a-bike” genre. Paid 400 plus $30 shipping. Hydraulic brake levers arrived faulty. The frame itself is very nice and similar to an Ozark Trail Ridge in quality. The derailler/gears/sprocket had some incompatibility. Ended up locking out the largest gear on back due to physical alignment issue with front sprocket causing binding and noisy chain rotation. Eastern probably needs to check out the parts choices done by Able bikes on their 29 and make some changes. Able currently selling a much nicer 29 hard tail for $280 shipped.
