Optimist - Smokey - Nonalcoholic Spirit

Disappointing -- one-note and watery tasting

Given the description of what went into this beverage, I was expecting more than what I got when I opened the bottle. It was disappointing weak-flavored except for the smokiness, but I could have gotten the same taste by a few drops of liquid smoke in any liquid I poured for myself. I was forced to add several other things to the drink to give it any flavor other than an overwhelming smoky taste. Unfortunately there are few non-alcoholic beverages that really have any complex or strong flavors, and this is one that I will never get again. In fact, I will have to figure out what I can mix The Optimist with to finish the rest of the bottle. It makes no sense to do the ratings below, as it was neither "simple & subtle" nor "bold & complex" in taste, and neither "just like alcohol" nor a "unique experience" in resemblance. The "burn" was only mild if one considers "watery" the equivalent of "mild."

Optimist is among the best

it really lives up to its name. that's not often found.
