Whilst Mr. Prabhu Kasaraneni’s family has been farming for three generations, he is a self-taught organic farmer who began growing heirloom Pragati turmeric in 2015, with assistance from the Indian Institute of Spice Research.

So much better!
This turmeric is a revelation! Whenever anyone raves about a dish I know that it's the high quality spices that make the difference. I have given this as a gift to many people and they are always blown away by the aroma when they first open it, and say they can never go back to grocery store turmeric. I love it in Indian dishes, of course, but also in turmeric chicken and turmeric cookies. It's so versatile!

I love the fresh flavor!!! My only issue I had was it was very difficult to open the top, and when I did the turmeric went all over the kitchen counter! Thanks for making a great product

Second to NONE. Period. Full Stop.
I thought my previous supplier had a good Tumeric. I was chatting with someone on a flight who told me to switch my source. Then one day I saw Sana and Diaspora being featured on a TV show. I purchased the small 48g tin Pragati Turmeric for starters. My reason was I wanted to support a female owned business. What I got was a spice that adds an incredible depth of flavor in a brilliant magnificent color. My other tumeric was dull by comparison. I immediately moved from the small 48g tin to the Chef Tin.
