Works very well for streaming music setups
In my setup, the isolator immediately follows the ISP's modem/router, both of which are on a different electrical circuit (and different location) from the main equipment. Earlier experiments with using a different optical converter powered by a power conditioner shared with the main equipment did not yield improved sound.
The Matrix isolator improves the depth and density of the music to a significant degree. Even though there is an EMI reducing switch right before the streamer. All of this stuff is system dependent, but many audiophiles have reported the benefits of optical conversion in their very different setups.
Installing the isolator is very quick and simple. One RJ45 in and one out. Plug it in. Done. Has survived electrical power outages without a hiccup. Just turns when the power returns and there is no need to a NASA-level startup protocol. It just works. I like the fact that it also protects downstream equipment from electrical surges that could otherwise travel through the copper ethernet.
Anything that has an internal clock needs vibration control. The isolator is no different. The location was not beneficial, so I added footers. Noticeable improvement. Likewise, adding a spare "audiophile" power cable that obviously acts as a noise filter (perhaps bidirectionally?). But you can also just set it down, plug it in and enjoy it.

Great and unexpected improvement
I am so pleased with the improvements made by adding this network isolator to my system. I bought it based on external reviews and was uncertain as to what, if any, improvements it would bring. I never felt like there was any discernible noise in my system. However, once incorporating the SI-1, I immediately heard several improvements including a darker background, better resolution and separation of sounds, and more clearly defined vocals. For the cost, this product was a clear winner for me. Not coming out of my system. my system for reference is 45 monoblocks, Grimm MU2, and large scale custom horns.

Quiet presentation! Anytime you can remove noise from the signal path you should do it, the SL-1 does it well for a great price!
