Beautiful "coffee table book"

This book is not a comprehensive history or directory of Orthodox monasteries in North America. It is a beautiful album of photographs from selected monasteries. The pictures outweigh the text. The text is irenic, not passing judgement on any monastery or jurisdiction. Still, some other monasteries could have or should have been included. It is an expensive volume, a collector's item.

Mr Sideway has compiled a marvelous pictorial chronical of the spread and variety of Orthodox monasticism in North America. We remember fondly his visit to us during his time of research and are honored to have a place in his book. Abbot Theodore Monastery of Our Lady and St Laurence
