I painted on the surface with oil paints. I scratched the surface lightly and rubbed with garlic to make the paints bond with the copper plate. It's so amazing to paint on copper! I will varnish it when dry so the unpainted areas remain bright and do not oxidize brown like it happens here in Colorado. So glad I found you guys! Super product made in USA!!!
