The best awning
Conan · December 9, 2025
On a 148" Transit, install was a bit of a pain and it doesn't cover the sliding door
Basically what the title states. Because the awning is set back behind the edge of the roof, there isn't enough clearance between the bottom of the mounting bracket and the top of the van to secure the awning with the small screw. Rather, there is but it took me longer to screw in those 3 small screws than it did for me to install the roof rack. Also, about a foot of the front of the sliding door entry isn't even covered by the awning. This means the awning can't be used at all during the rain because of gaping hole. Now I'll have to engineer a slide that the awning can attach to that locks back for travel but can slide towards the front of the van for at least a foot... or FVC can... just saying, I'd pay money for it ;)

Instructions unclear
Instructions provided did not help with the particulars of the roof rack specifically. I would also agree with matt-the-ok's review where it recesses behind the edge of the van causing the handle to bang off the top off the roof
