This does as it says, detangles. However, that doesn't mean it removes the knots. I say this as someone with thick hair, would be fine for thin. It's more like it allows the bristles to move freely through the hair in order to train it down. Not to be used for styling. But it's great straight out of the shower to give the hair a once over and helps to detangle before you get out your comb to complete the job. A good tool to have.
