My friend sent the Epona Mane & Tail brush as a gift. I considered my Morgan's thick and wavy tail the real test and the brush passed with flying colors! I bought several to give to friends and one more to keep as an extra in my barn. I also appreciated quick delivery of my online order.

Fewer pulled hairs, if used correctly

I’ve found that this Epona brush pulls fewer hairs than other mane and tail brushes. However, it does take longer to fully brush out tail sections. And you will need to pick out debris with your fingers, because the Epona brush will not grab onto it. It is important that you flatten and splay out a roped section of tail, starting at the end and working up to your horse’s dock. Otherwise, the short tines of the Epona brush will not be able to grab onto the hair and detangle, and will just glide over the surface of a roped section of tail. In that way, it forces you to correctly brush out a tail (in sections and working from end to dock), compared to other brushes where you might just dive in when you’re in a hurry…. A wide toothed comb is also effective, if used in this manner. I don’t consider this Epona brush to be an essential grooming tool, but rather a nice addition.

This brush is awesome!! I have always used a wet haur/detangling brush and this ye even better! Gentle on hair and smoothing.
