Incredibly versatile...

Chip lifting is the least of this thing's capabilities! I've used it to pry open electronic enclosures, set DIP switches, unplug circuit boards from one another, etc. They're not invincible... The tines on the blade can break, if you try prying something too hard or too well-anchored. However, they're inexpensive enough to be easily replaced if that happens. Use common sense and a firm (but delicate) touch, and you'll do fine.

Great for vintage computer restoration!

I've been using this to lift chips in vintage computers - it's extremely useful to avoid bending pins while lifting ICs in these old systems.
