Powdered Japanese tea Matcha "Banjo-no-Mukashi" 20g

A great usucha tea

I discovered Fukujuen store when I was on holiday in Kyoto in 2024. I bought Banjo no mukashi and Eisho no mukashi. Now, back in France, it's my go-to matchas for usucha. As for Banjo no mukashi, it has the more balanced flavours and the roundest umami. A must.

Excellent Matcha for Koicha/Usucha

I visited the Fukujuen Tea Factory in person and only grabbed matcha sticks and loved it---so I finally branched out and ordered more varieties online, and I'm not disappointed. The Banjo works beautifully with milk as a latte and without---the flavor profile is very balanced, with no noticeable astringency. Froths into a creamy foam when whisked. Very vivid and bright green color, and smells earthy and slightly sweet. You can absolutely taste the dedication and care in producing this matcha powder. I will be back (if not in person!)
