Basketweave Sweater Vest Crochet Pattern XS-5XL

My daughter ordered this pattern and she made it for herself. It looks amazing!

This is only the second garment that I have ever made. The pattern was easy to follow. I made size L. I adapted the pattern to make it a) fit me b) to make it longer as I am more rotund and don't want my midriff showing. I added another eight rows to the bottom of the basket weave stitch, as advised by Lyndsey - thank you for your help. Other changes that I made: 1. I made the back panel higher at the neck. I only decreased for the last few rows. 2. I did trebles two together around the sides of the neck line (eight each side) this made it more like a crew neck for me. Also brought me in line with the stitch count on the pattern! 3. I sewed further up the sides making arm holes smaller for me. 4. I only used htrs and did one row of ribbing as I didn't want the arms holes going down my arms. I used 100% Toft dk wool, which has made it very chunky. It will keep me nice and warm in the winter, which was my objective. If I was to make it again, I would try a slightly thinner dk wool for this style of stitch. I found it very useful reading people's reviews about their adaptations that they made.

Lovely pattern easy to follow only half way through but loving it. Finished in time for Christmas- absolutely love it 🥰
