A Little Gem

Wonderful, diminutive amplifier. In my small room, it has all the power necessary, driving 4 Ohm speakers. Very little heat come from the solid case, warms very quickly. So easy to live with and to look at.

Topping is good, not my cup of tea.

Although highly rated for SINAD the sound lacked the transparency I want in a high fidelity amplifier. The amp is otherwise good. Frequency range, dynamics all good. It seems there may be a single ended input (multi function XLR connector that in the recording industry has a 1/4" phono jack in the center - not sure why this is not advertised or explained).

Great sounding little amp

My system consists of a Topping LA90 Discrete, Topping Pre90, Topping D90SE, Paradigm Signature S1 speakers, and a Martin Logan Dynamo 800x subwoofer. For sound quality I give the LA90 5 stars. It is let down by only XLR inputs (and who needs three), and a 12-volt trigger input but no 12-volt output. My first choice would have been for a Benchmark AHB2 but the Topping is a quarter of the price and for my needs just as good.
